Cajun Cook Recipes (CAJUN) Leon Publications $10 is a collection authentic Louisiana Cajun recipes for fish, meat combinations, poultry, seafood and more. CanLbl 1.0 Home Saver Software $0 is a simple program for making labels for canning and freezing containers. Truthfully, any general label-printing program could do this, but this program can be used to impress that computer-illiterate spouse what a nice, friendly machine a computer can be. Epson compatible printer required. Cocktail Mixer (COCKTMX) Korhonen, Aki $15 is a database of recipes for different drinks. There are 56 drinks in this database to choose from and you can add your own. (These must be drinks for computerists; one recipe calls for Light "Rom".) Herb C. S. Unlimited $5-$10 cross-references herbs/spices and foods. You can either select for lists of herbs and spices and see what foods a particular herb/spice is normally used in, or you can select for lists of foods and see what herbs/spices are normally used in them. Nyblom's Deli (DELI) Englehart, R. K. $0 is a collection unique recipes for meats, pastries, vegetables, punches, etc. This is a collection of text files, not a program, so you need a word processor or a utility like LIST to read the files and search for specific recipes or foods. It features detailed reviews and a five-bottle rating system. Beers may be chosen by country of origin, type, any part of the brand name, or rating. You can also create your own evaluation checklist. Chef-Plan (CHEFPLA) Perfect Memory Software $35 helps plan single meals or meals for weeks at a time. Grandma's Greatest Recipes 1.1 (GRANDMA) Boger, Allen D. $10 is a collection of old recipes, health and beauty tips, and household hints. Some are over 100 years old. Mr. Boger discovered these while doing research for his family tree. Seafood Disk (SEAFOOD) Starchild, Adam $? provides interesting information about seafood. Subjects include storing/thawing/cooking fish and shellfish, nutritional information, seafood myths, buying fresh fish, and much more. --------------------------------- END OF SMALL PROGRAMS DISK #12009 --------------------------------- ------------------ 3700 Shopping Help Small Programs Disk ------------------ Easy Shop 1.01 (EZSHOP) Arrow Connection $30 is a grocery shopping program that produces an aisle-by-aisle list. It also allows you to make instant lists, such as a list of common items that you buy or an instant list of ingredients for your favorite recipe. Grocer 3.1 Zakas, Richard $10 is one of the better grocery shopping list programs we've seen. It maintains a database of commonly purchased items, organized by product type. You can easily add to or delete from the database. To create a shopping list, you page thru the list and enter the quantity for each item you want. The list can then be saved or printed out. The print-out includes the price per item, the extended price, and the total for the shopping trip. You can preview the list on screen before printing. Mouse and hotkey support is provided. The program is well designed and easy to use. Pat's Food Shopper 1.0 (PATFOOD) Boudreau, Pat $20 is a grocery shopping list program. It will tell you as you go the total dollar amount and it sorts the list according to aisle number before printing. Multiple data files are supported if you shop at more that one grocery store. Shopping List Maintenance (SHOP) Gosack, Glenn $0 is a shopping list program. ASP $15 #27365/830 keeps track of coupons. You can search by subject matter, batch delete expired coupons, print out lists by coupon type, and more. Topp's Grocery Program Topp, Michael W. $30-$35 #27365/2728 is a fast and easy to use coupon manager. It manages up to 100,000 coupons and rebates, tracks savings and grocery expenses, and makes a grocery list based on selected coupons. Compu-Chef 1991.4 DB Software, Inc. $10 #3374 is a cookbook and nutrition guide. Over 100 traditional American family recipes are included by four Iowa farm family generations. You can also create and store more than 2,200 recipes in 26 categories. Compu-Chef provides data about Calories, Protein, Fat, Carbohydrates, Calcium, and Sodium for all recipes, including the ones that you add. You can compute the nutritional value of home recipes for the entire recipe and for each individual serving. You can calculate your projected caloric intake based on how much you want to weigh, your sex, and your age. You can accumulate 60 days worth of statistics on weight-loss/gain for the entire family and project a chart that represents your progress toward achieving your weight goals. A shopping list note pad is available while viewing the recipes. Requires a hard disk with at least 720K. QuickChef Scheckelhoff, R. $16 #3375 (formerly CookIndex) lets you create a master index of all your cookbooks. It does not store recipes in a database, but provides an alphabetized list of where in your cookbook library a specific recipe is located. The index generated is similar to the indexes found in the back of any book and provides information about cookbook name, page number, category, and personal comments. A hard disk is required. Computer Baker Welton, Douglas $5 #7216/1422 has 99 recipes for goodies - everything from Fruit Cocktail Eggnog Pie to lollypops, including more conventional delights such as pies, cakes, cookies and snacks (brownies and pastries), fudge and candy, muffins and biscuits. All recipes are made from scratch. Cuisine Williams, Vic $30 #7216/2286 is a family of cooking tools designed to run on a personal computer. It will let you save, edit, and call up recipes. It will generate a shopping list from recipes selected. It is menu-driven, fast, and easy to use. Edna's Cook Book Specialty Microware $32 #7216/1171 allows recording, filing, listing, and printing recipes. The program is easy to use. If you are afraid to commit your old family recipes to disk, you will be relieved to know that ECB will let you encrypt recipes. A datafile repair utility is included. Recipes East Hampton Industries, Inc. $15 #7216/1318 starts by listing 100 different foods, such as eggs, garlic, lentil or Mexican. After selecting a food, you are presented with a list of recipes featuring that type of food. After you select a recipe, you can adjust the number to be served from 1 to 99. You can print the recipe to take to the kitchen or print a shopping list of the ingredients of up to five different recipes. (You cannot add your own recipes.) Home Bartender's Guide B. M. W. Programs $5 #7217/1492 [2 disks] shows how to mix and serve many popular highball and cocktail drinks. The drinks are divided into categories: juice drinks, cream drinks, highball drinks, popular drinks, cocktails on the rocks, cocktails made with lemon or sour mix, frozen drinks, Polynesian drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, martinis and Manhattans, champagne and wine drinks and coffee drinks. It also recommends what type of glass the drinks should be served in. Vino:File Cellar Master 3.0 Christian, Mark ASP $29 #7217/2588 keeps track of the bottles of wine in your cellar and has instant access to your tasting notes. Analyze the geographical spread of your collection, maintain a list of wines that should be drunk or tasted soon, and identify future purchasing needs. Locate a particular bottle of wine by bin or box number without hunting through the cellar, packing and unpacking valuable bottles. There are import and export functions, and search options. The program is well designed, fast, menu-driven, and easy to use. Meal Master 7.07 [MEALMSTR] Episoft Systems $35 #7218/2158 is a menu-driven program for managing recipes. You can store, update, and print your recipes in a variety of formats. You can search for recipes using any combination of Title, Category, or Ingredient criteria. Change the number of servings a recipe makes, and all the individual ingredient amounts will be adjusted automatically. You can mark up to 250 recipes as you select them and later print a shopping list for the ingredients of all the marked recipes. Editing features include word-wrap and paragraph reformatting for directions text. A conversion utility is provided to convert recipes from the Micro Kitchen Companion text file format to Meal-Master import format. Meal-Master Recipe Library Episoft Systems $0 #7218/2141 is a collection of recipes for use with the Meal-Master program contributed by other Meal-Master users. Recipes include 54 Cajun recipes and 25 "served-cool" recipes, 80 microwave recipes, 14 cookie recipes and 45 cheesecake recipes, 34 low-cal, 15 vegetarian, and 17 zucchini-based recipes, 70 "cowboy" recipes, 20 muffin and 25 sourdough bread recipes, 25 pickle recipes, 20 soup recipes and 20 recipes with a main ingredient of garlic. Bon appetit. Recipe Processor 2.9.2s Lichtenstein, Jay $35 #7218/3313 allows you to store and print out your favorite recipes. In addition, you can manipulate the number of servings the recipe will yield, instantly adjusting the amounts of each ingredient. You can also instantly convert from one measure to another (ounces to cups, tablespoons to ounces, etc). The calorie calculator will tell you how many calories, fat, cholesterol and sodium are in each serving. You can quickly and easily browse through your recipes by category, ingredient, or through the entire recipe data base. It can also prepare and print a shopping list. Twenty sample recipes are included. Program For A Small Planet 5.1 Strat-Tech, Inc. $26 #2238 finds healthy, complementary foods and calculates usable protein amounts. The program also calculates total calories, sodium, cholesterol, dietary fiber, and polyunsaturated/saturated fat. It also displays food group information and graphs of foods you select and daily requirements. Grocery Shopper's List Voss, Jamie T. and VOSS Software Development $19 #7219/2586 makes the task of preparing a grocery list easier. It will sort the list into your own customized categories. A handy coupon database supplements it to aid coupon organization. Requires EGA/VGA. OMNIMeal Unicorn Software Limited ASP $25 #7219/2726 is a recipe storage and meal planning program. Features include the ability to print recipe cards, lists and books and shopping lists, and to search for types of recipes based on several different types of criteria, such as ingrediants. Our only complaint is that if you elect to add a recipe, you cannot back out without going through the entire, lengthy input routine, which then results in a blank entry in your database. Other than that relatively minor nuisance, the program is well designed. Recipe Register and Kathleen's Grocery List Baldwin, Duncan Ben $0 #7219/2727 allows you to keep track of and print out recipes and grocery lists. You can type in unlimited ingredients, directions and comments; printout recipes to bind or give to friends and church groups; print a quick list from the included database, or add your own and keep track of coupons and prices. Shopper's Assistant Morgan, Norman O. $20 #7219/1980 will help you organize your weekly trip to the grocery. Shopper maintains data for up to five separate stores. Each store may have up to 400 items defined. Each item record has a place for the description, the location within the store, the price and whether the item is taxable. In addition, there is a field in each record for the quantity to buy. Putting a non-zero value here is how items are selected for purchase. The program is fast, uses pull-down menus, has on-screen help, it is easy to use and has MS mouse support. Smart Home Shopper Torbert Data Systems, Inc. ASP $20 #7219/2967 allows you to quickly and easily prepare a grocery store shopping list. You select the items you want to get and the program will print a list by category so that items on the same aisle will be grouped together. This is an easier approach than those programs that require you to enter information about which aisles in the store have which foods in order to print a list by aisle. You may optionally enter prices for each item for up to five different stores and the program will calculate a total, showing you which store will give you the lowest total price. Hard disk required. Topp's Recipe Program Topp, Michael W. $30 #3531 is a fast and easy way to manage an unlimited number of recipes. It accepts any amount of ingredients. It computes measurements based upon the number of servings. It computes calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, saturated and unsaturated fat, sodium cholesterol, potassium, and the cost. You may optionally plan an entire meal by selecting all the recipes needed to prepare it. Fractional or decimal measurements are supported. ]]]]]
